About Me

Hi! I’m Rebekah Celeste—mentor at The Georgic Schoolroom, musician, poet, herbalist, teacher, photographer, painter, and life-long learner. I’m in love with learning and have spent years studying anything that sparks my curiosity. I’ve taken courses at UVU, The Georgic Schoolroom, Dr. Patrick Jones’ Homegrown School of Botanical Medicine, 4 years at a Classical Liberal Arts College, and many online programs. If something peaks my interest, I’m ready to learn.

In the summer, I teach at The Georgic Schoolroom, helping students reconnect with nature, plants, and their themselves. The rest of the year, I travel to communities with my Herbal Candy Class, making it easier (and tastier!) for families to use herbs for healing common health problems at home.

Music was my first language, and creativity is my heartbeat—whether through painting, poetry, music, solving a problem, or teaching my friends something they want to know. Have fun exploring my webpage and let me know what I can do for you!

You can text me at 435-459-1554.

(Stay tuned for the updates to this page coming soon!)

Herbal Candy Classes

My Inspiration

When I found out that I could walk outside and pick a flower in my yard to help the common cold, I fell in love with natural healing. Plants are powerful medicine, and many of the weeds growing all around us have incredible healing properties. I was enamored by the possibilities of taking care of the body using common plants and weeds that we find in our gardens and yards. I created the class I wish I had when I was starting to discover the world of herbs. I wanted to learn something that was understandable, to the point, and doable.

So what will you learn???

-How to grow, harvest, and use these six essential herbs:
🌿 Yarrow
🌿 Plantain
🌿 Comfrey
🌿 Cayenne
🌿 Calendula
🌿 Mullein

-How to turn an herb that you really need into a healthy treat that makes being sick much more enjoyable! With each herb we learn about I’ll share recipes (and taste tests!) so even the pickiest eaters can enjoy their medicine. (For those of you who are curious about the candy part of this…All my recipes are sweetened with honey or maple syrup which are healthier alternatives to sugar giving you a no-guilt herbal candy that the kids will love to eat!)

-6 key principles that apply to any herb to help them work effectively in the body.

Fun Fact:

All of the herbs I use in class came from my herb garden at The Georgic Schoolroom last growing season! (The picture at the top of the page is from the summer of 2024:) I wanted to bring you herbs from my garden so that you can know the quality of the herb you are getting. This includes the herbs you will take home as a free gift and the ones I have available for you to purchase in glycerides (for treats!), tinctures, and as the dry leaf as well.

In a nutshell, you can expect to learn the following 22 things:

  1. Learn about 6 herbs: yarrow, plantain, comfrey, cayenne, calendula, and mullein.

  2. Learn how to grow, harvest, and store each of these 6 herbs.

  3. Learn how to use the 6 herbs to help specific common issues. Ex: coughs, congestion, menstrual cramps, cuts & scrapes, etc.

  4. Get a free herb sample so you can practice what you learned!

  5. Learn how each herb acts in the body. There are 37 different actions these 6 herbs do.  Ex: stop bleeding, stop stomach aches, stop pain, etc.

  6. Learn how to take herbal medicine in yummy treats. (Taste my homemade herbal treats in class!)

  7. Get a copy of the recipes we’ll be tasting.

  8. Learn how to make an herbal glyceride as all my recipes use the herbs as a glyceride extract.

  9. Learn what the different herbal preparations are and when to use them. Ex: tincture, poultice, salve, fomentation, etc.

  10. Learn 6 basic principles that teach you how to use any herb and make it effective in your body.

  11. Practice real life scenarios to learn how to use each of the 6 herbs.

  12. Learn through hearing my real-life stories of how these herbs have helped me and those I know.

  13. Participate in reviewing information after each section.

  14. Gain resources on how to learn at home.

  15. Gain information about herbal education opportunities.

  16. Learn the safety & drug interactions of each of the 6 herbs & how to find that info for any herb.

  17. Gain a brief introduction to the Law of Signatures.

  18. Learn how much of the plant to take so you get a medicinal dose.

  19. Learn the quality test to know if the herb you’re using will work.

  20. Learn how to use herbs so they work in your body.

  21. Participate in a free drawing to get a gift.

  22. Learn how to treat the cause of an issue instead of putting a band aid on a symptom.

How it Works:

I come to your community to teach a class. When a person signs up as a host I will come to their house (or a free building in the community), and teach a group of people that they invited and signed up. The class is 3 hours and costs $100 a person. In gratitude for hosting me, the workshop is free for my host. (If you would like to come to a class instead of hosting, reach out to me and I will let you know of classes in your area!) Do you want to host a class? Let's arrange it! Text or call me at 435-459-1554
